Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi on Tuesday paid condolence visits to the families of Ms Julia Molefhe and Ms Eunice Radebe in Gaborone and Tlokweng respectively.<\/b><\/p>\n

He hailed Ms Molefhe as a remarkable nurse and true nation builder and Ms Radebe as a selfless character worth emulating.<\/p>\n

\u201cMs Molefhe was a remarkable nation builder, because if you try and measure commitment, passion and excellence of service, there are few, globally, who will beat Ms Molefhe.<\/p>\n

So, together with my government would like to thank her for her immense contribution to this country\u2019s health care services,\u201d said Dr Masisi.<\/p>\n

Explaining that he learnt of Ms Molefhe\u2019s death while on an official trip outside the country, the President said he found a physical visit fitting.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe mourn with you on this tragic loss, but we console ourselves with the great legacy she has left behind as an exemplary citizen,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

President Masisi encouraged the family to remain strong in the face of the loss.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe would never be happy with you sitting down and destroying yourselves in misery, she would want you to get out and live with the community,\u201d he said of the deceased.<\/p>\n

Husband, Dr Potlako Molefhe said he lived happily and peacefully with the deceased during their 60 years of marriage.<\/p>\n

Expressing gratitude for the President\u2019s visit, he described it as \u2018a great gesture and big sacrifice\u2019.<\/p>\n

Ms Molefhe\u2019s daughter, Ms Koketso Molefhe-Motalaote said her mother was a selfless person for whom nursing was a calling which she performed with outmost dedication.<\/p>\n

Giving a vote of thanks, Ms Molefhe\u2019s son-in-law, Mr Dumisani Ndebele thanked President Masisi for visiting the family.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat an honour for you to be physically here with us. Let me also recognise that even when you were overseas, you did share your words of condolences which were captured through your social media pages,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Ndebele also thanked government for naming Gaborone\u2019s Block Nine clinic after his mother-in-law while she was still alive.<\/p>\n

In Tlokweng, Dr Masisi said the 84-year-old Ms Radebe, a renowned public servant, had lived a full life.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe lived her life and was full of life, something I wish for all of her progeny. All I can ask for is shed away the pain of losing her and be thankful that she satisfied herself fully,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

President Masisi pleaded with the family to look back with pride and celebrate the selfless character that was Ms Radebe.<\/p>\n

He urged them to be exemplary and emulate their mother.<\/p>\n

Family representative Ms Ethna Dabutha praised President Masisi for devoting his energies and time to commiserating with Batswana from all walks of life.<\/p>\n

Ms Radebe had an illustrious career in business development and as a public officer having served in various government structures including the education ministry.<\/p>\n

She is survived by two daughters and six grandchildren.<\/p>\n
