Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Education and Skills Development intends to produce graduates of international standards.<\/b><\/p>\n

Consequently, the ministry is reviewing the curriculum in an effort to improve the standard of education.Minister Dr Douglas Letsholathebe said this during official opening of Machana Primary school in Moshupa\/Manyana constituency on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important to impart skills to our students to ensure that they are competitive globally,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In other issues, Minister Letsholathebe applauded President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi for bringing different organisations and individuals together for the construction of Machana Primary School.<\/p>\n

He further said he hoped other leaders would follow what Dr Masisi did for Machana by not relying on the government for everything.<\/p>\n

The minister also thanked all those who made the project a success.<\/p>\n

My ministry, Dr Letsholathebe said, would continue shaping learners into responsible future leaders through education.<\/p>\n

For his part, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Mabuse Pule highlighted that the school project idea was born during a kgotla meeting in Machana addressed by Dr Masisi as the constituency Member of Parliament.<\/p>\n

\u201cDr Masisi was surprised to see children during a kgotla meeting, while they were supposed to be at school. He then decided to engage companies and individuals to assist,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Pule pointed out that what President Masisi did was a sign of visionary leadership, adding that it was also in line with his Reset Agenda.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that his ministry would continue building schools around the country to support a knowledge-based economy.<\/p>\n

Kgosi Mogotsi Marotwane of Machana thanked Dr Masisi and First Lady Neo Masisi for continuous support to the school as well as all those who assisted the school.<\/p>\n

This school, he said, had brought light to the village, adding that it was not easy to get a job even a simple one without education.<\/p>\n

Kgosi Marotwane also thanked government for various developments in the village.<\/p>\n
