Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Government commercial radio station RB2 is set to undergo major changes that will transform the station and enable it to remain relevant as well as embrace the Reset Agenda.<\/b><\/p>\n

Department of Broadcasting Services Director Mr Raymond Tsheko said this during the station\u2019s 31st anniversary celebration in Gaborone on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Mr Tsheko said the transformation, scheduled for this financial year, would enable the station to compete with other private radio stations and impact positively clients, employees and musicians.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the many transformations will include a facelift of the studios. We also intend to broadcast our programmes live on various platforms such as social media in order to appeal to the business community as well,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Mr Tsheko said an audience rating tool would be introduced in the near future and would establish a baseline which would provide factual information about programmes.<\/p>\n

Artiste, Thabo Ntirang aka Mapetla thanked RB2 for cementing his musical career.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy debut single released in 2005 was broadcast on RB2 and I have since grown by leaps and bounds as a result of the exposure provided by this radio station,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the founder of Cultural Spears group, Kabelo Mogwe advised upcoming artistes to take advantage of the platform availed by RB2 to brand and market their music.<\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations RB2 for blessing us with 31 years of contemporary entertainment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
