Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Gaborone United (GU) have reduced the gap between them and premier league log leaders, Jwaneng Galaxy, to five points.<\/b><\/p>\n

This followed GU\u2019s victory over Masitaoka in Tlokweng on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The win puts GU on 51 points, just six points ahead of third placed Orapa United.<\/p>\n

The exciting Botswana Premier League top tier was played before an excited crowd at the Royal Aria Stadium with Moyagoleele, as GU are fondly called, repeating a 2-0 win over Majatlhaga in December.<\/p>\n

With five minutes on the clock before the break on Saturday, red hot attacking midfielder, Mpho Kgaswane, curled in a decent corner that Masitaoka\u2019s defender Lethabo Ogotseng headed into his own net to open the account for the Reds.<\/p>\n

Thero Setsile continued his sharp form in front of goal with another wonderful strike to extend The Red\u2019s win.<\/p>\n

Mahachi, as Setsile is fondly called, put the last nail in Masitaoka\u2019s coffin in the 82nd minute showing excellent composure to finish a well worked out Kgaswane through pass.<\/p>\n

Masitaoka spurned several chances from the opening minutes to unsettle the homeside as they enjoyed a great passing game but looked indecisive in the danger area.<\/p>\n

Their star player, an undoubtedly man of the match, Thabang Khuduga had GU in sixes and sevens with his well-timed crosses from the left wing.<\/p>\n

Team captain and Namibian international, Ivan Kamberipa, had a great game thwarting any move that Mothusi Cooper started in the middle of the park.<\/p>\n

In other league games played on Saturday, Nigel Mlauzi and Comfort Dikupa were on target as Nico United pushed Lobatse Extension Gunners further into trouble at the Sam Sono Stadium in Selebi-Phikwe.<\/p>\n

Wilfred Muvirimi grabbed a brace before Lemogang Maswena struck late to hand Orapa all the maximum points against Security Systems while Township Rollers shared the spoils with Morupule Wanderers in Lobatse. Police beat Sua Flamingoes 3-2.<\/p>\n
