Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The church has remained a main provider of human development services through spiritual and moral values, says Minister of Entrepreneurship.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking during the fifth graduation ceremony of T-Net International Teleo University in Gaborone on Saturday, Minister Karabo Gare said the urgency and imperativeness to empower those at the helm of the church should not be underestimated.<\/p>\n

He said knowledge enabled individuals to transform, adding that training was key for proper dissemination of knowledge.<\/p>\n

Mr Gare said the growing development of consciousness and moral experience came from Christianity, therefore he urged graduates not to deviate from the cause.<\/p>\n

The minister said the church already had a record of being a facilitator in developing the education sector<\/p>\n

The church, he said, was foundation for family and community. Mr Gare described athe church as a unifying and counselling platform relied upon for nation building.<\/p>\n

He said Batswana attached great importance to the church, which was also key to the national transformation agenda.<\/p>\n

Training of pastors, Minister Gare, said was important in that they were spiritual leaders who needed to be equipped with necessary knowledge and skills, to make them relevant in the daily execution of their duties.<\/p>\n

He said T-Net International was a world-wide protestant, evangelical education-by-extension Christian training organisation for pastors and leaders.<\/p>\n

Mr Gare said the depth and diversity of T-Net programmes demonstrated that pastors needed not only to be taught preaching and teaching, but also management skills needed by leaders.<\/p>\n

T-Net graduated 53 who studied programmes, among them, leadership development, strategic planning, human resource management, coaching and mentoring, supervision and accountability.<\/p>\n
