Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The Directorate of Public Service Management (DPSM) has launched a radio programme to improve information dissemination and public service delivery as well as to empower civil servants and the public.<\/b><\/p>\n

Launching the programme on Tuesday, Minister for State President Mr Kabo Morwaeng said it would change the public sector service delivery landscape through robust and frequent engagement between the employer, civil service and the wider public.<\/p>\n

He said the programme, scheduled to air on DUMA FM every Tuesday between 6pm to 7pm, was conceptualised and realised through the collaborative efforts of the radio station, Keywealth Group and DPSM.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a clear example of what we can achieve through Public Private Partnership. As government we yearn for more of these private sector partnerships and gradual rolling back of government involvement,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Minister Morwaeng said it was through such initiatives that the private sector could play a meaningful role to complement government job creation efforts.<\/p>\n

The real impact of the programme would be felt by communities who would receive credible and informative public service opportunities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will in turn improve public confidence largely on account of the availability of digital and real-time platforms to air views and obtain expert clarity on service delivery issues,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Minister Morwaeng said the initiative would also help in the attainment of Vision 2036 aspirations and fulfilment of government intentions to render efficient and effective service to citizens.<\/p>\n

DPSM director Ms Gaone Macholo said the programme was aimed at informing and educating the public about service delivery in government as well as human resource-related matters.<\/p>\n

The programme would afford all ministries and independent agencies the opportunity for interacting with the general public on their services and programmes.<\/p>\n

\u2018The radio programme will be live discussions which are thought-provoking and relating to people practice issues such as productivity, performances, morale and mindset change,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Ms Macholo said the programme targeted both civil servants and the general public.<\/p>\n

Duma FM station manager Mr Donald Seberane said they were delighted to air the DPSM radio show.<\/p>\n

He said the radio station, which had a wide listenership in Botswana, prided itself in educating, informing and creating a dialogue that changed people\u2019s lives and accommodating all views.<\/p>\n

DUMA FM always made sure that people learnt from its programmes and was careful not to step on listener\u2019s toes or cause national panic, he said.<\/p>\n

Keywealth Group managing director Mr Mogomotsi France said his 9-year-old company offered services such as investment and financial planning.<\/p>\n

He said the aim was to improve the lives of Batswana and communities.<\/p>\n
