Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Mosepele Hiking Club has been hailed for partnering with other stakeholders to support people with disabilities.<\/b><\/p>\n

The club does not only promote fitness, but also encourages visits to less known places.<\/p>\n

Morupule Coal Mine CEO, Edwin Alias, who was the chief hiker for the annual flag hiking event in Pilikwe recently said the hiking club had been doing this kind of event since 2018 to deliver projects aimed at improving the lives of people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

Alias said they were happy to support the event as this was aligned with Morupule Coal Mine value of togetherness.<\/p>\n

Morupule coal mine sponsored the Mosepele event at the tune of P50 000.<\/p>\n

Kgosi Gasebalwe Seretse of Pilikwe said the club was not only exercising fitness engagement but also promoted tourism as hikers appreciated the culture and history of Pilikwe.<\/p>\n

Mosepele Club Hiking chairperson, Rockie Mmutle, said the objective of the event was to promote fitness and bring the communities together to exercise and encourage the tourism across this country.<\/p>\n

He also encouraged the community to register people with disabilities for them to receive help and better care.<\/p>\n

Executive Director of Cheshire Foundation Botswana, Billy Masebola said the club was doing a great job by helping people with disabilities and engaging the community in their fitness activity.<\/p>\n

Masebola said people with disabilities needed to receive proper care, adding they also had rights to every human right.<\/p>\n

Hiking was done in two categories the 15km and 30km hiking up the Pilikwe hills crossing over to Mhalapitsa and back.<\/p>\n
