Therefore, leaders required support from members in order to execute duties effectively.<\/p>\n

It was on such a backdrop that the newly appointed chief for Boseja Ward in Maun, Kgosi Taffy Wellio called for support in carrying out his duties.<\/p>\n

Kgosi Wellio made the call at an event to officially welcome him to the kgotla recently.<\/p>\n

He informed the gathering that he was ready to serve them with dignity and respect irrespective of their social status.<\/p>\n

Kgosi Wellio assured the community a smooth working relationship and urged them to participate in community activities, attend meetings and also play a key role in the development of the village.<\/p>\n

\u201cI promise to serve you and carry all my duties with diligence and I call you to support me so that we take our ward to greater heights,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He also called on parents to play their part in the upbringing of their children noting that juvenile delinquency was a serious concern.<\/p>\n

\u201cBad parenting is one of the main factors behind the increasing juvenile delinquency and I urge parents to join forces with traditional leaders to instill discipline among children,\u201d Kgosi Wellio added.<\/p>\n

He further implored parents not to pamper their children but teach them values and morals to survive.<\/p>\n

Kgosi Wellio was recently appointed chief representative following the death of Kgosi Kegaisamang Ramokwena in 2021.<\/p>\n

Speakers wished Kgosi Wellio well in his new assignment and called him to serve the community wholeheartedly.<\/p>\n

Pastor John Kamedi of Seventh Adventist Church urged him to conduct himself in a professional manner to earn and keep their respect.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou should seek wisdom upon the Lord, love your job and visit decent areas in order to protect your reputation as a leader,\u201d Pastor Kamedi said.<\/p>\n

For his part, Boseja Village Development Committee chairperson, Mr Segopotso Sebetwane thanked Batawana tribal authority for following the right procedure in the appointment of Kgosi Wellio.<\/p>\n
