Fashionists take us through tips on how to looking dazzling and admirable amid the freezing temperatures. They share on how one can infuse designs, style into art.<\/p>\n

One of the renowned fashion designer and lifestyle content at House of Kay, Kaone Moremong said Layering could be the theme for the 2023 winter. She said layering is where one wears layers of clothes to complete a look.<\/p>\n

Moremong said layers allow one to change as the day progresses and becomes warmer.<\/p>\n

A fashion enthusiast, Moremong believes that winter fashion is beautiful, as there is more intention when dressing for winter than any other season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really wish our winters were longer. This season also encourages more family time, people don\u2019t generally like going out when it\u2019s cold, there is less social events to attend therefore families bond more in winter,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

She said in interview that Botswana winter was not that cold most of the times, but admits the country normally experiences low temperatures in the mornings and evenings, whilst during the day the weather gets a bit warm. \u201cI would advise people to put on layering with fitted silhouettes wool clothing inside and oversized light coats,\u201d adding, because winter was about warmth and comfort, people should be warm.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Fashion Without Borders founding director, Surge Kabisoso thinks the 2023 winter theme should be termed: Embracing Self.<\/p>\n

He said the theme was appropriate especially that \u201cwe are just emerging from COVID-19 era and we need to thank the Almighty and themselves for how far they have come.\u201d Concerning the perfect colours for winter, Kabisoso preffered light toned pinks, dark toned greens, dark toned blues and even red. Although he is not a winter person, he said winter fashion can be fanciable.<\/p>\n

Kabisiso believes the 2023 winter will be stronger than previous year, with rain as well. \u201cSo I\u2019d say keep busy and keep up with exercise and work on improving yourself in mind and body,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Creative director at Dihdah & Everyday Bw Ms Candida Montsho, a designer concurs with Moremong that the winter season was strongly associated with layering, warm colour tones such as brown, orange and gold.<\/p>\n

She has however observed that winter was extremely subjective to personality, keeping covered and still remaining stylish.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo a mini tweed dress, stockings, thigh high boots and a coat, should be a wardrobe staple,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She advised those shopping for winter to look for quality and clothes that could last long.<\/p>\n

With the recession upon us, it\u2019s wise to buy smart and ensure that our clothes are not seasonal but timeless good quality pieces that can be used over many years, she said.<\/p>\n
