Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Ditsele Trust received an early Christmas present from Mascom through the latter\u2019s Mascom 3 For 3 social responsibility initiative.<\/b><\/p>\n

Ditsele Trust is a non-profit making organisation that was formed to improve the lives of people born with albinism.<\/p>\n

The Mascom 3-for-3 initiative is a movement that encourages Mascom staff to devote three hours of their time to causes and initiatives that could serve their communities.<\/p>\n

The three hours is anchored on the pillars of servitude, community upliftment, and teamwork.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the handover ceremony of eye care wear and skin creams to Ditsele Trust in Ramotswa Saturday, Mascom procurement manager, Ms Motshidise Moremi-Motshewa said the initiative was done all over the country on different projects.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust like our forefathers, the past three Batswana Chiefs who went to England to seek protection we intend to follow that route of volunteerism to serve Batswana.<\/p>\n

As our slogan reflects, we are number one because of you! Community service is our priority,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She explained that they had a conversation with people living with albinism at the kgotla last year and invited a specialist to appreciate the challenges they faced.<\/p>\n

Ms Moremi-Motshewa appreciated the support they got from establishments such as Ponong Medical Services in the procurement of the gifts.<\/p>\n

She express pleasure at the fulfilment of the promises they made last year.<\/p>\n

A medical expert at Gaborone\u2019s Princess Marina Hospital, Dr Malebogo Ralethaka explained the challenges and offered advice on skin condition and eye care.<\/p>\n

For his part, founder of Ditsele Trust, Mr Rapula Ditsele expressed hope that with such good gestures, people living with albinism would be economically empowered.<\/p>\n

He urged other members of the community to come on board and offer any support that would give them hope and courage to eke out a decent living.<\/p>\n
