Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The curtain on the 2022-2023 season will fall this Saturday with Gaborone United and Orapa United expected to close the stage with an exciting Orange FA Cup final. The winner will pocket P800,000.<\/b><\/p>\n

The football festival takes place at the National Stadium with the Reds looking for their second win on the trot, while the Ostriches hunt for their second FA Cup win. Botswana Vice President Slumber Tsogwane will be the guest of honour at the match. Giving an update on preparations, the Botswana Football League operations manager, Patrick Motsepe indicated they have stepped up security for the game. \u201cAs part of the preparations, we have two security companies that will not be revealed now and the Botswana police officers will be present as well. Tickets will not be sold at entry points as there will be designated areas for the tickets,\u201d Motsepe said.<\/p>\n

Orange Botswana communications and public relations manager, Ratanang Motladile said all is set for the big game. The prize money has been improved from last season, with the winners\u2019 cheque at P800,000 up from P700,000. The runners-up will receive P400,000. \u201cWe are here to assure you, come Saturday the beloved Orange FA Cup final game will take place at the National Stadium. It will be spectacular and nothing short of amazing. Also, we are excited to witness history in the making, as the team that wins will walk away with P800,000,\u201d Motladile said. She appealed to supporters to make it to the stadium in large numbers to witness the two teams battling it out. GU communications and marketing manager, Herbert Letsebe said all the players are available with no reported injuries in camp. \u201cUs at GU we are fully prepared. Our intentions are for a positive outcome. We respect our opponents, but we have more in store for them,\u201d Letsebe said.<\/p>\n

He is confident that the fixture will pull the crowd. Orapa United public relations manager, Amelton Gaefhele said the team is pumped up for the occasion. \u201cFrom our end, we are preparing very well and getting the team to be ready for the game on Saturday. The coach and the technical team have been preparing quite very well. I have no doubt in terms of their preparations,# and there have been keeping up with the schedule,\u201d Gaefhele said. Orapa\u2019s main sponsor, Debswana has hired two buses to transport supporters to the game.<\/p>\n
