\u201cIt is time for the church to rise and take its position towards healing and restoration of the nation. Go out there and win these young people with the word of God,\u201d the Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry, Beauty Manake, said during the launch of a book titled, The Great Commission: A guide to Effective Soul Winning”, in Selebi Phikwe on Saturday July 8.<\/p>\n

Authored by Pastor Gladys Mokate, founder of Rockville Baptist Church in Selebi Phikwe, the book outlines steps of leading a person to the Lord from the world of sin and keep the youth away from destruction by earthly things.<\/p>\n

The book outlines strategies to overcome sin leading to sexual abuse, teenage pregnancy and rape.<\/p>\n

Manake commended Pastor Mokate and said the book would contribute towards re-building the nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cDocumenting how you see the world from a spiritual realm is critical for our aspirations of a knowledge based economy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Applied research based on knowledge-intensive activities was needed to attain innovation in strategic areas and thanked the government for an affirmative and inclusive gender policy.<\/p>\n

Manake said what the church was doing to win the souls of the youth was essential for the country\u2019s future, and that coherent and tangible strategies to aid government were needed to combat alcohol abuse and illicit drug use.<\/p>\n

She said the youth should read and understand the book.<\/p>\n

For her part, Mokate said she wrote the book out of passion for lost souls and in consideration for factors as high teenage pregnancy and alcohol and substance abuse.<\/p>\n

To be part of the solution to social ills, she said, the church had come up with a project for widows where it organised workshops for youth, provided counselling and donated food. She said through her book, she was reaching out to all who have challenges so that they could improve their lives.<\/p>\n

Mokate described the book as the fastest means to deliver the gospel to the people.<\/p>\n

Pastor Chris Gumunyu stated that the book was a must read and recommended it to everybody who wanted to see a positive change in their lives.<\/p>\n
