Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Member of Parliament for Molepolole South, Mr Kabo Morwaeng has urged the youth to be agents of Mindset Change by becoming the pillars of change and good role models.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking during a Mindset Change campaign for young people in churches in Molepolole on Sunday, Mr Morwaeng said as Christians, they should be exemplary to their peers.<\/p>\n

The MP, who is also the Minister for State President, said young people were the only ones who could bring about the results they desired by being the change they wanted to see.\u201cThis means making amendments where things are currently not being properly done,\u201d he said, adding they should change and help others to do the same.<\/p>\n

He said it was imperative for the youth to embrace the Mindset Change initiative and be exemplary even outside church.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have to learn to be efficient, productive and humble,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Morwaeng further implored them to embrace change and play a meaningful role in the country as it aspired to reach a high income status.\u201cWe need to change in order for the country\u2019s economy to develop and for your lives to improve,\u201d he said, adding that they should all be determined and know that they could accomplish change.<\/p>\n

He said the government, led by President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi, had already started the wheel of change rolling with the importation of cattle from the United States and introduction of Information and Communication Technology in schools.<\/p>\n

He said the government recognised the role the church had played in Botswana\u2019s economic and social development, hence it would continue to seek support as it could not develop the country on its own.<\/p>\n

Vice Chairperson of the Ministers Fraternal, which organised the event, Rev Keamogetse Mack, said the church was in full support of the government\u2019s endeavour to develop the nation.<\/p>\n

Rev Mack said change was important even in church.Assistant District Commissioner Ms Maitumelo Maemo urged the youth to encourage their peers to embrace mindset change.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should not leave everything to the government, but have do other things for ourselves,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
