Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Molepolole South residents have been urged to rally behind President Mokgweetsi Masisi\u2019s Mindset Change initiative that aimed at improving their lives.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking in kgotla meetings he addressed in his constituency recently, Member of Parliament for Molepolole South, Mr Kabo Morwaeng said Batswana were fortunate to have someone of the calibre of President Masisi as their President, since he was driven by a desire to improve the welfare of all citizens.<\/p>\n

Mr Morwaeng said the reason behind the Mindset Change drive was to get Batswana to change how they have been doing things by raising their productivity levels and being efficient in their work.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President has already showed us that we can achieve Mindset Change, through the newly brokered diamonds deal between the Botswana Government and De Beers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Morwaeng, who is also the Minister for State President, said the deal would see Botswana earning more revenues throughout the diamond chain, from mining to the final product.<\/p>\n

He mentioned another milestone achievement as the importation of bulls from the United States which he said would help develop the local beef industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t listen to those who are just in the habit of criticising everything that the Government does, because they also use these programmes to improve their livelihoods,\u201d Mr Morwaeng said.<\/p>\n

Mr Morwaeng encouraged the residents to use Artificial Insemination centres near them saying they would only pay P35 for a straw and each farmer is allowed to bring a maximum of 10 cows. \u201cOwning a good breed is expensive, but the government is now making it possible for Batswana to improve their breeds for just P35,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Ms Masego Mogwera from the Animal Health and Production encouraged farmers to take their cows to the AI centres near them when the dates for the programme rollout are announced. She said through the AI centres farmers would be able to access the semen from the recently imported bulls.<\/p>\n

Ms Mogwera said different straws would be available and farmers would choose the breeds they want.<\/p>\n
