Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The most under-utilized assets in companies today are the ideas in their employees\u2019 heads, so says US based innovator and entrepreneur Hugh Molotsi.<\/b><\/p>\n

Molotsi was speaking at the Mmabontle Circle Intrapreneurs summit this past week and insisted that companies have plentiful reasons to create a conducive environment for its employees to be innovative.<\/p>\n

Molotsi is the founder and CEO of Ujama, the developers of Soko, the Farmers Market App. He is a seasoned product and technology leader with over 30 years of experience developing global solutions for small businesses and consumers.<\/p>\n

He told the Mmabontle Circle summit that several innovative companies that empower frontline employees stand a better chance of growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor too many people, work is just a means of making a living. It is a necessary drudgery. But in companies with a culture of innovation, employees are passionate about their work and eagerly look forward to tackling the challenges of the day,\u201d Molotsi said.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the summit, Entrepreneurship Minister, Karabo Gare said that entrepreneurship has everything to do with empowering every single one employee.<\/p>\n

Gare said there is need to empower employees, \u201cFrom the front lines to the boardroom, in order to think and act like an entrepreneur or a problem solver\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added that there is need to encourage employees to identify opportunities, even in the most challenging work environment, by taking calculated risks and driving innovation within the confines of our corporate structures.<\/p>\n

Mmabontle Circle founder, Tirelo Ramasedi said that they are on a mission to challenge and inspire change, \u201cin the status quo of the world of work in Botswana, through the gender lens\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to the complexity in the intersectionality of gender, the Mmabontle Circle drives transformation in unconventional ways that impact change directly and indirectly, ultimately moving the needle in closing the gender gap\u201d, said Ramasedi.<\/p>\n
