Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Thuto Batshidi, one of the youngest commercial pilots in the country has been promoted to the position of Operations Manager and Executive Director at Safari Air.<\/b><\/p>\n

Safari Air is the flying wing of the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) listed tourism outfit, Chobe Holdings.<\/p>\n

Amid decades-long droughts of Batswana pilots in cockpits of local airliners, Safari Air has made as one of its missions to hire and retain Batswana pilots.<\/p>\n

Chobe Holdings Managing Director Lempheditse Odumetse has told that as a subsidiary of Chobe Holdings Limited, Safari Air operates under the overarching vision and values of its parent company.<\/p>\n

\u201cChobe Holdings Limited\u2019s dedication to empowering citizens aligns perfectly with Batshidi\u2019s own aspirations and serves as a testament to the company\u2019s commitment to fostering growth and development within the local community,\u201d said Odumetse.<\/p>\n

As Operations Manager, Batshidi assumes responsibility for the overall direction and supervision of all company operations. The role comes with significant responsibilities, which may serve as a constant source of motivation for the Bobonong native.<\/p>\n

Odumetse said he has no doubt about the ability of what Batshidi can deliver.<\/p>\n

Batshidi\u2019s remarkable journey in the aviation industry began with a simple cockpit picture that ignited his passion at the tender age of 12. It was his determination that led him to pursue his dream in 2011 when he enrolled at Aptrac Aviation, obtaining his commercial pilot license with multi-engine and instrument rating. His commitment and hard work paid off, as he secured a prestigious position with Safari Air in 2014.<\/p>\n

Throughout his tenure at Safari Air, Batshidi\u2019s exceptional skills and dedication propelled him to new heights within the company. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a Training Captain and ultimately being promoted to the esteemed position of Chief Pilot in 2018.<\/p>\n

Batshidi\u2019s inspiring journey within Safari Air not only exemplifies his personal achievements but also reflects the opportunities and support provided by Chobe Holdings Limited.
