Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Celebrating learners\u2019 examination results not only motivates and ensures commitment to hard work, but also encourages learners to stay on track with their learning, Masunga Senior Secondary School former pupil, Dr Mbako Mbo has said,<\/b><\/p>\n

Dr Mbo, who was officiating at the school\u2019s excellent results celebrations, Saturday said it was vital to always appreciate and celebrate good results attained by pupils after completion of their examinations.<\/p>\n

He commended attendees for their efforts in moulding pupils into better citizens who took their studies seriously.<\/p>\n

Dr Mbo shared that there were four things in life that inspired, motivated and made him who he was.<\/p>\n

He urged learners to always respect school authority.<\/p>\n

\u201cAuthority at schools is school heads, teachers, non-teaching staff and even at villages you come from,\u201d he said, adding that submitting to authorities would mould them into better citizens.<\/p>\n

He said the behavior and attitude they displayed now was what the society would remember them by, adding that their future would be defined by things they did when they were young.<\/p>\n

Dr Mbo therefore urged pupils to commit their minds to shaping the future they want.<\/p>\n

Kgosi Maruje III of Masunga said the event usually held at school premises was this year held at the Kgotla to celebrate the traditional way; recognising teachers for their role in moulding a child from infant stage.<\/p>\n

He encouraged teachers to be bold in taking action against wayward behaviours.<\/p>\n

He said because Botswana was part of the global community, learners had to work hard and be competitive internationally.<\/p>\n

Kgosi Maruje III further urged them to take advantage of free education system and avoid vandalising school property.<\/p>\n

Parents Teachers Association (PTA) Chairperson Mr Moses Mputshana urged parents and teachers to acquaint themselves with PTA guidelines.<\/p>\n

He said as PTA was part of school management.<\/p>\n

On the performance, he said in 2018 the school was at position 3 with 36.02 per cent, 2019 attained position 2 with 45.55 per cent while in 2020 and 2021 scooped position 1 with 50.17 and 49.6 per cent respectively, while in 2022 took position 2 with 34.17 per cent pass rate.<\/p>\n
