{"id":36172,"date":"2023-10-10T16:23:48","date_gmt":"2023-10-10T16:23:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\/?p=36172"},"modified":"2023-10-10T15:26:52","modified_gmt":"2023-10-10T15:26:52","slug":"manake-supports-lebogang-junior-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\/all-news\/manake-supports-lebogang-junior-school","title":{"rendered":"Manake supports Lebogang junior school"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Botswana. <\/strong><\/span><b>To support Lebogang Junior Secondary School endeavour to attain position one in the coming Junior Certificate Examination (JCE), Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry Ms Beauty Manake has donated P10 000.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The school had been struggling over the years to be in the JCE Top 10 best performing schools, but managed to attain seventh spot with 65.6 per cent in the 2022 JC Examinations.<\/p>\n<p>Officiating at the school\u2019s prize giving ceremony in Selebi Phikwe on Friday, Ms Manake commended the school for putting a lot of effort to be in the Top 10, urging them to push themselves to position one.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing is impossible if you want to do it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She urged pupils, teachers, parents and stakeholders to join hands to improve the school\u2019s academic performance, thanking the school head and his team for working hard amidst the challenges they faced.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Manake urged parents to help support teachers in the best way possible to help improve the school\u2019s academic results.<\/p>\n<p>She encouraged pupils to work hard and always strive for the best, adding that she managed to achieve three degrees because she was determined to achieve more and be the change she wanted to see.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want you to identify and recognise yourselves in me and say \u2018I can be anything I want to be\u2019,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The day was held under the theme; Instilling a Sense of Global Citizenship and Responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>School head Mr Stephen Timela thanked Ms Manake for the donation as well as other sponsors for their contribution in helping the school improve its academic results.<\/p>\n<p>He said for the first time in many years the school managed to produce a Merit, urging learners to work hard for the school to produce more outstanding performers.<\/p>\n<p>He encouraged pupils to do the best they could in the 2023 JC Examinations, adding that what they learnt in the three years of their stay at Lebogang JSS was enough to help them excel in the coming examination.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Timela commended teachers, parents and stakeholders for always heeding their call whenever they needed assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Parents Teachers Association chairperson Mr Gaobatwe Moeng commended those who got prizes for a job well done.<\/p>\n<p>He encouraged those who did not get prizes to work hard to improve their academic results.<\/p>\n<p>He also encouraged parents to join hands with the school to create a conducive environment for leaners and teachers to unleash their potential.<\/p>\n<p>Best Overall awards went to Masego Moeng in Form Three, Debrah Thomas and Bolotsang Lebogang in Form Two and Form One respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\">Botswana<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Botswana.
