Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Boxing fanatics witnessed a night of pugilistic brilliance as Tefo Letshikgwane alias The Navigator etched his name in the annals of greatness, defending his Super bantam Weight International title against Zimbabwean opponent Bongani \u2018Captain\u2019 Makorova.<\/b><\/p>\n

The local pugilist defended his title by a unanimous decision in a gruelling eight round bout during the Boxing Fight Night Championship\u2019s second edition held at Fairground Holdings Octagon on Friday.<\/p>\n

Both first and second judges scored 78\/74, while the third one scored 79\/73, awarding The Navigator his second victory following his first win against Onkarabile Mothibedi in April.<\/p>\n

The fervent boxing aficionados who filled the Octagon to the brim, seemed to have gotten what their money was worth.<\/p>\n

Local pugilist squared off against Captain, whose youthful vigour was on full display with his relentless aggression and frenetic footwork.<\/p>\n

With a record of 3-3-0, the Zimbabwean embodied an insatiable thirst for victory. However, The Navigator, same age as his ally, tactically countered Captain\u2019s ferocity with swift and unexpected jabs.<\/p>\n

As the fight entered its sixth round, The Navigator was determined to conclude it with a single, decisive punch, but Captain\u2019s spring-like agility thwarted his efforts.<\/p>\n

Both warriors persevered until the final round, where fans were treated to an electrifying exchange of fists.<\/p>\n

The fighters intermittently trapped each other in the corners, leaving the crowd in awe. In the end, The Navigator secured a unanimous decision victory, a result that Captain found hard to accept.<\/p>\n

Leading to this thrilling fight were other local and international bouts.<\/p>\n

In a six-round National Featherweight contest, Kago \u2018Sparta\u2019 Raokgwathile unleashed a thunderous knockout in just the second minute of the second round against Onkarabile Mothibedi.<\/p>\n

Raokgwathile\u2019s brutal display of power brought the audience to their feet.<\/p>\n

Another memorable moment was Tshephang \u2018Rambo\u2019 Gomotho\u2019s performance in a four-round National Featherweight contest.<\/p>\n

He dazed his opponent, Brian \u2018Mufasa\u2019 Galelemogwe, and secured a unanimous decision victory, propelling himself closer to boxing glory.<\/p>\n

The international Middleweight contest featured a riveting clash between local pugilist Lentswe Zwinlia and South Africa\u2019s Rudolph Roux.<\/p>\n

Zwinila emerged victorious by a unanimous decision, showcasing his impressive endurance against Roux\u2019s relentless body hooks.<\/p>\n

In the national Flyweight contest, Kobamelo \u2018Hitman\u2019 Molatlhegi delivered a masterful performance, securing a unanimous victory against Kenny Sebekedi. Molatlhegi displayed impeccable combinations and proved that he was on a mission to hunt heads.<\/p>\n

The atmosphere was electric, each punch reverberating through the arena, charging the audience with exuberance and fanatical cheers. This night was not just a sporting event; it was a visceral experience that united fans in their love for the sweet science.<\/p>\n

Leslie Sekotswe, a true luminary in the world of professional boxing and the first Botswana professional boxer to be crowned the African Boxing Union (ABU) super flyweight champion in 2008, graced the event.<\/p>\n

He shared his joy, and said, \u201cI am very happy about what transpired tonight. It truly shows that boxing is on the rise in the country. If they continue to push, I believe great things are on the horizon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bond Ngubula of Bond Boxing Gym, the mastermind behind this extraordinary night, couldn\u2019t have been more pleased with the turnout and the impeccable preparations for the event.<\/p>\n

The night was made possible by the unwavering support of Botswana Television (Btv), Public Procurement and Assets Declaration Board, Bond Boxing, Fairground Holdings and Grand Palm.<\/p>\n

The main sponsor, Rockstar Energy Drinks, added a jolt of excitement to the already thrilling event.<\/p>\n
