Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The church plays a vital role in building social morality through strengthening family unit, promoting social cohesion.<\/b><\/p>\n

Mmadinare Member of Parliament, Mr Molebatsi Molebatsi said this at the Shepherds of God Church launch and ordination of Archbishop Petros on Saturday.<\/p>\n

He said the church had been the cornerstone of support and advocacy for those in need.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs government we subscribe to God\u2019s teaching because it inspires, shapes and moulds the society and the nation at large in a positive way,\u201d Mr Molebatsi said.<\/p>\n

He commended the newly ordinated Archbishop Tshepiso Petros for visionary leadership and for establishing seven church branches in two years, a milestone he said was a testimony of what the grace of God could do.<\/p>\n

He encouraged Archbishop Petros to lead the church by example without fear or favour and also cautioned him to choose friends wisely.<\/p>\n

Mr Molebatsi noted that the position of an Archbishop came with a lot of responsibility and power and as such encouraged him to use it wisely, be obedient to God, respect others and be submissive to congregants.<\/p>\n

\u201cKeep Jesus at the centre of focus in the church and you will never have money problems, people\u2019s problems or growth problems,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He further said it was pleasing to see Shepherds of God church growing, having opened seven branches since its inception two years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is my strong belief that you will continue to win more souls and bring a positive impact in building good morals especially among our youth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Molebatsi also urged church members to support Archbishop Petros in order for him to lead them better.<\/p>\n

For his part, Archbishop Petros thanked the church for its support and assured members that he would work with them to bring a positive change to the youth.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am also going to work with government to build families, mould society and help take out the congregants out of poverty,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He thanked Mr Molebatsi for always supporting the church and encouraged him to support other churches in the constituency so that they continued to win souls.<\/p>\n
