Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has appointed new envoys to Germany, Brazil and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.<\/b><\/p>\n

A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that Government Communications and Information Systems permanent secretary, Mr John-Thomas Dipowe has been appointed ambassador to Germany.<\/p>\n

With over 30 years service in the public sector, including senior level experience in the foreign affairs ministry, the release says ambassador-designate Dipowe will also be accredited to Poland.<\/p>\n

Chief of protocol in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassador Benetia Chingapane has been appointed ambassador to Brazil.<\/p>\n

With over 25 years service as a career diplomat, ambassador-designate Chingapane will also be accredited to Chile, Argentina, Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, the Caribbean as well as the Southern Common Market.<\/p>\n

The release says deputy director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Shimane Kelaotswe has been appointed high commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n

Having served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for over three decades, the release says high commissioner-designate Kelaotswe will also be accredited to the Commonwealth, Malta, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Israel, Romania, Slovak Republic, Cyprus, Croatia and Czech Republic.<\/p>\n

The release says the new diplomatic appointments are effective upon assumption of duty.<\/p>\n
