Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Electorate at Lepokole\/Borotsi ward, under Bobonong constituency, have been called upon to vote in such as way that they do not only write history, but also make a loud statement towards 2024 general elections.<\/b><\/p>\n

As the race to grab Lepokole\/Borotsi ward seat heats up, BCP leader, Mr Dumelang Saleshando wooed the constituents to vote for the party he led saying it has proven democratic and trustworthy.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the BCP rally at Borotsi, Sunday, Mr Saleshando painted his party the most cooperative of all the opposition parties, arguing that it was their impeccable democratic record in cooperation that led to them jumping ship from Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC).<\/p>\n

Mr Saleshando dismissed cooperation inside the Umbrella, saying the leader of the opposition parties\u2019 arrangement loathed democracy and flaunted upon the constitution he solely authored.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ll be faced with a multiple choice question on which party can best answer your prayers for your children to lead a better life.<\/p>\n

You will have to start with assessing some unacceptable choices and at the end you will end up with BCP as the best answer,\u201d said the BCP leader.<\/p>\n

The BCP leader, who is also a Member of Parliament for Maun West assigned BCP faithfuls to hold talks with some staunch supporters of the BDP in the ward regarding the upcoming by-election.<\/p>\n

On the candidate, Mr Afa Moalosi, who will be launched this week, the BCP leader said that he stood under a party fit enough to govern.<\/p>\n

He added that the BCP never reneges on promises made.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the same rally, BCP vice president, Mr Taolo Lucas said, \u201cYou should go out and vote for the BCP in big numbers,\u201d said Mr Lucas, who is also a Member of Parliament for Bobonong.<\/p>\n

Member of Parliament for Ngami, Mr Carterpiller Hikuama said that the BCP candidate was a package and a statement that sold BCP towards 2024 general elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou would have shamed your party if you don\u2019t go to the polls in large numbers on December 9,\u201d said Mr Hikuama, who said the BCP was in good shape and form to assume state power.<\/p>\n

The Ngami Member of Parliament said that his party stood for the interests of the people.<\/p>\n

He also painted the BCP a beacon of opposition parties\u2019 cooperation.<\/p>\n

The Lepokole\/Borotsi ward fell vacant when the then councillor, Mr Motseothata Mafoko of the UDC resigned on September 14.<\/p>\n
