Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Defence and Security has floated a tender for the fencing of exhibit farm at East Hanahai.<\/b><\/p>\n

Minister of Defence and Security, Mr Kagiso Mmusi informed Parliament on Wednesday that the tender was floated from April 11 to May 16.<\/p>\n

He said the purpose of fencing the exhibit farm at East Hanahai was to hold livestock exhibits. Explaining the reason for floating the tender, he said the bid responses were way beyond the allocated budget ceiling for the project thus rendering it unaffordable.<\/p>\n

He revealed that the project budget was P300 000 and the recommended bidder had quoted P842 327.<\/p>\n

Mr Mmusi stated that after considering the budgetary constraints, the project would be budgeted for and implemented during the 2024\/2025 financial year.<\/p>\n

In the interim, he said the ministry would continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Agriculture.<\/p>\n

The Minister was responding to a question from the Gantsi South MP, Mr Motsamai Motsamai who had wanted a progress update on developing a Botswana Police Service farm at East Hanahai to enable the removal of livestock exhibits at the Chobokwane Artificial Insemination Farm.<\/p>\n
