Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The Kgathi family has been implored to emulate and pass onto the young generations the good lessons their mother, Ms Kgomotso Kgathi taught and lived by before her death.<\/b><\/p>\n

Conveying his condolences to the family in Bobonong on Friday,Acting President, Mr Slumber Tsogwane noted that Ms Kgathi, who died December 11, was a nucleus of the family who also doubled as a fountain of knowledge and source of wisdom to her family.<\/p>\n

The late Ms Kgathi was also auded as a glue that bonded the family together, ensuring that every member of the family understood where they fit in the lineage.<\/p>\n

Although the family was saddened by the death of their mother, Mr Tsogwane said the deceased had left the family tonnes of inheritance of knowledge, love and roots to find solace in.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe did not only unite us as family, but taught us love and it is imperative that we remain a united front as we plant all these good deeds to our younger ones,\u201d said the Mr Tsogwane, who explained that she got to know the deceased through her son and former minister of defence, justice and security Mr Shaw Kgathi.<\/p>\n

Mr Tsogwane said that he met Mr Kgathi while in the teaching profession before they both joined politics of Botswana Democratic Party.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that we are next in this journey and before we depart we should ensure that we leave some great legacy behind. The legacy of love, unity and proper upbringing of children who will share family values amongst other things,\u201d said Mr Tsogwane.<\/p>\n

Welcoming the Mr Tsogwane\u2019s entourage, Dr Letsholo Kgathi said the family was greatly saddened by the death of their mother who bound the family together.<\/p>\n

However, the family found solace in that they reaped invaluable lessons from her whilst still alive, according to Dr Kgathi.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe had gone to see her doctor in the morning for some medical checkup, but would later collapse and die around lunchtime the same day of December 11,\u201d said Dr Kgathi.<\/p>\n

Departed at 97, the family had expected their source of wisdom and calm to reach a 100 years as they kept digging in from her wealth of life experience.<\/p>\n

Born on March 19, 1926 in Bobonong, Ms Kgathi was the first born of kgosi Selamolela Malema and Ms Moshia Malema. She married Mr Morake Kgathi in 1940 and the couple was blessed with eight children.<\/p>\n
