During a media briefing, Mmusi underscored the severe implications of this issue, highlighting that such illicit communication tools can enable inmates to sustain links with the outer world and criminal networks, potentially leading to an increase in unlawful activities.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Risks & The Call to Citizens<\/p>\n

Mmusi emphasized that the accessibility of mobile phones to prisoners poses serious security risks, not just within the confines of the prisons, but also outside. He urged citizens to demonstrate responsibility and refrain from supplying prisoners with mobile phones and drugs. These contraband items, he explained, can disrupt the sentencing and rehabilitation processes and potentially fuel further criminal activities post-release.<\/p>\n
