Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Newly signed AS FAR Rabat forward Tumisang Orebonye is ready to take his game to the next level under the guidance of renowned coach Nasreddine Nabi.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Moroccan champions acquired the services of the Botswana international on a two-and-a-half-year deal. Orebonye completed the high-profile move from Algerian giants USM Alger this week.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old arrives with a decorated resume, having tasted continental success with the CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Super Cup triumphs during his time with USM Alger.<\/p>\n

Orebonye\u2019s ambitions, however, don\u2019t stop there. \u201cI want to be in the CAF Champions League next season,\u201d he told FARPost. \u201cHaving won the CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF Super Cup, it gives me the hope that I can do more.\u201d<\/p>\n

His tactical versatility makes him a valuable asset to Nabi\u2019s attack as the former Young Africans mentor looks to win the Botola 1 league title in his first season. After 15 games, Morocco\u2019s defending champions lead the log table with 33 points.<\/p>\n

Nasreddine Nabi is no stranger to success, having led Yanga to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup, which Orebonye lifted at the end of the 2022\/23 season. In the last two seasons in Tanzania, the 59-year-old coach won two successive trebles.<\/p>\n

WHAT OREBONYE HAS SAID ABOUT WORKING WITH NABI<\/p>\n

Renowned for his innovative formations and galvanising halftime speeches, Nabi\u2019s reputation precedes him. And Orebonye, a wide-eyed admirer, hopes to learn from the former Ismaily mentor.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited about the move to AS FAR. I\u2019m going to a team in Morocco\u2019s top division that won the previous championship. They\u2019ve previously shown interest in me in 2021, and I\u2019m glad to join them finally. I hope to help the team achieve its objectives for the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also think the timing of my move is perfect. I played against coach Nabi in the final when he was at Young Africans. Nabi is a coach I admire so much. He also knows my capabilities. I\u2019m excited to work with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Zebras striker elaborated on his tactical flexibility, noting his willingness to adjust to AS FAR\u2019s playing style. \u201cBefore, I used to play as a centre forward in Morocco [Olympique Club de Khouribga], but in Algeria, I changed positions.<\/p>\n

In Algeria, I needed to find a new position to help the team \u2013 so I played on the right wing, left wing and behind the main striker. AS FAR presents a new challenge, and I\u2019m willing to work hard and establish myself.\u201d<\/p>\n
