Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Different Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) speakers have described Onkemetse Mothei as hard-working, loving and a dedicated member, who is capable of transforming the lives of Bophirima ward residents in the Gaborone Bonnington South constituency.<\/p>\n

The speakers believe that it is time residents of Bophirima ward vote for someone who they trust with their lives and also for a person who has been voluntarily working for them as Mothei has. When speaking at their rally at Bophirima ward, the Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration Meshack Mthimukhulu said the history and dedication that Mothei has displayed in the ward speaks for itself since the time she became a member of the Ward Development Committee and other social welfare committees.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not see why residents of Bophirima ward cannot vote for Mothei. You need to vote for someone who has that love to transform your lives and also who could advocate the development of the ward. Mothei is the only rightful candidate as compared with others who are still fighting for themselves. He told the BDP members to keep on working hard since it is clear that they are going to retain the area. In addition, he said they should capitalise on the current developments in the Umbrella for Democratic Change since they are divided. He said as the BDP, they are happy that the Botswana Congress Party has made a wise decision to stand on its own. He continued: \u201cKopo yame ke gore jaanong lona Batswana la bona gore ga se batho ba ba ka le busang. Hela ha o bona ba lwela magopelo di tloga o bo o itse gore ba ka diga itsholelo ya lehatshe.\u201d Another speaker, MP for Gaborone Central constituency, Tumisang Healy also said members should work hard so that they win the ward back for the party. \u201cAt times we are the ones as BDP members who are de-campaigning our party.<\/p>\n

We need to join hands as members so that we speak in one voice. I am happy that some members who stood with Mothei are helping her to campaign,\u201d he said. The seat for the Bophirima ward fell vacant following the death of BDP councilor Kagiso Mongwaketse, who passed on in January this year and the by-election will be held on April 9.<\/p>\n
