{"id":42321,"date":"2024-01-22T17:44:52","date_gmt":"2024-01-22T17:44:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\/?p=42321"},"modified":"2024-01-22T15:47:42","modified_gmt":"2024-01-22T15:47:42","slug":"digitalisation-has-potential-to-unlock-high-productivity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\/all-news\/digitalisation-has-potential-to-unlock-high-productivity","title":{"rendered":"DIGITALISATION HAS POTENTIAL TO UNLOCK HIGH PRODUCTIVITY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Botswana. <\/strong><\/span><b>Digitalisation has immense potential to unlock and enable high productivity among people.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This was said by the Assistant Minister of Education, Ms Nnaniki Makwinja at Hatsalatladi in her Lentsweletau\/Mmopane Constituency recently.<\/p>\n<p>This was during the launch of the Botswana Telecommunications Corporations (BTC) Financial Inclusion Programme.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Makwinja said the initiative brought personal development and financial empowerment to stimulate economic growth through inclusion and mindset change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBTC is the bridge that connects us to the world and is anchoring our digitalisation agenda through the financial inclusion agenda,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Makwinja encouraged all stakeholders from the public and private sector to actively embrace financial solutions and use the programme to build a knowledge-based economy.<\/p>\n<p>She said government continued to drive the digital transformation agenda that was geared towards improving and transforming the lives of Batswana.<\/p>\n<p>She said she appreciated BTC for continually showcasing their expertise and knowledge through an array of products that were reshaping not only the digital landscape, but also enabling financial freedom for Batswana.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Anthony Masunga , BTC\u2019s managing director, said through the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), Botswana was certainly underway to being positioned as a smart country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith BTC at the forefront, we have unlimited potential and it all begins with relevant educational inclusive programmes such as the BTC Financial Inclusion Programme,\u201d said Mr Masunga.<\/p>\n<p>He said the programme was an effort to close the economic breach, which aimed at ensuring that people worldwide, regardless of their geographical position and financial status, had access to a transaction account.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Masunga said the use of technology was critical in driving economic growth and diversification, therefore government should have a balance approach towards community engagement exchange by developing a financial inclusive programme that considered shareholding, creation of employment and foreign direct investment.<\/p>\n<p>Kgosi Saki Gabanamotse of Hatsalatladi said he was grateful for such initiatives to set up in his area as they would contribute to planting a seed of knowledge that lasts for a life time.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted that residents should take advantage of the initiatives and make significant change in their financial status.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\">Botswana<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Botswana.
