{"id":42562,"date":"2024-01-26T10:05:40","date_gmt":"2024-01-26T10:05:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\/all-news\/tlou-completes-100km-line"},"modified":"2024-01-26T10:23:58","modified_gmt":"2024-01-26T10:23:58","slug":"tlou-completes-100km-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\/all-news\/tlou-completes-100km-line","title":{"rendered":"Tlou completes 100km line"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Botswana. <\/strong><\/span><b>Emerging energy developer, Tlou Energy, has finalised construction of the key 100 kilometre transmission line which links its Lesedi Coal Bed Methane project to the Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) substation in Serowe.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The project effectively connects Tlou\u2019s planned generation to the national grid, enabling the Botswana Stock Exchange-listed company to supply the 10MW it has been engaged to do by the BPC to provide to the country.<\/p>\n<p>In an update to investors on Wednesday, Tlou officials said its contractor for the line, Zismo Engineering, was now conducting final works including site clean-up and dismantling of equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Tlou meanwhile is working on options that will allow the design of the planned five megawatt substation at the Lesedi project site to be adapted to beyond 10MW. Substations are required at either end of the transmission line, one to tie Tlou\u2019s generators to the transmission line at Lesedi and another to integrate the line with the existing BPC substation at Serowe.
