Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Motetshwane shines in 2023 Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) garnering more than 90 per cent.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at the school\u2019s victory celebrations recently Principal Education Officer for Serowe regional office, Mr Mika Kehinana, said he had been working closely with Motetshwane Primary School community and remained confident of a desirable out-put given the dedication and sacrifice displayed by the school.<\/p>\n

As for the achievement of 90.9 per cent, he noted that was challenging all stakeholders to remain steadfast in ensuring that students receive quality education at all costs.<\/p>\n

He compared education to a three-legged pot which comprise teachers, parents and learners, which requires all of its legs to carry out their functions.<\/p>\n

Mr Kehinana was of the view that of these three legs, none was more important than the other, meaning if one breaks, all the pressure goes to the other two.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis celebration shows that the school management caters for two elements which are welfare and results,\u201d he said. \u201cFor the school head to have organized this victory party for his team it shows that he does not only want results from them but appreciates their input.\u201d<\/p>\n

Urging teachers to borrow a leaf from previous educators who gained accolades through producing good results, he noted such a move would attract promotion and other incentives that would boost their market value or curriculum vitae.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have declared war to your competitors and they would stop at nothing to do better than you next time, make sure you do what you need to do to stay on top of your game,\u201d he advised.<\/p>\n

Motetshwane Primary School head, Mr Ontiretse Kenaope, stated that their aim was to surpass the Ministry of Education and Skills Development\u2019s target of 80 per cent and he is happy that even after Covid 19 challenges, they finally made it to be among the top.<\/p>\n

Expressing appreciation to teachers, support staff and parents, teachers\u2019 association for working together harmoniously for a good course, Mr Kenaope said it was paramount to ensure that the school performs above par as there was a strong correlation between education excellence and economic performance.<\/p>\n

Mr Sombrero Machacha, a former Standard Seven teacher, said patience, dedication and perseverance were the ingredients for excellence.<\/p>\n

Mr Machacha said standard seven was the most challenging class and was demanding to bring desired results.<\/p>\n

He said all the three standard seven teachers worked together mutually as a team to ensure that learners are well equipped with all the necessary tools to hit expected levels.<\/p>\n
