Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>While the landscape of culinary has always been a tapestry of flavors, with a myriad of global cuisines on offer, traditional food can sometimes seem like faint whispers of the past.<\/b><\/p>\n

Tshepiso Marumo, popularly referred to as Mmammidi, is among young people yearning to preserve the delectable flavors of traditional cuisine for business reasons.<\/p>\n

The launch of her second stall Saturday in Phase 4, Gaborone, which also offers an array of traditional dishes as bogobe jwa lerotse, morogo wa dinawa, korong, dikgobe, seswaa, mogodu, and lethodi, was the place to be.<\/p>\n

Mmammidi told that her new stall was a testament of her dedication to quality, excellent customer service and efforts to consistently satisfy her clients\u2019 palates and make her services more accessible.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt the need to meet my customers halfway so, I decided to have another stall at Phase 4. Some of them are from as far as Game City and surrounding areas, and sometimes it is difficult for them to make it to Phase 2 for their lunch and be back at work on time,\u201d said Mmammidi about her business that has employed 12 young people.<\/p>\n

Mmammidi\u2019s journey into the culinary world is a tale of perseverance and resolve. She started out selling corn (mmidi) in the streets of Gaborone, out of a bucket and later elevated into the food business at Phase 2 and concentrated on serving traditional cuisine. Believing in one\u2019s dreams, consistency and taking challenges head on , she said were the secrets of success.<\/p>\n
