Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Government is committed to ensuring that the aspirations of the 2021 tourism policy are attained.<\/b><\/p>\n

Presenting the 2024\/2025 budget estimates yesterday, Minister of Finance, Ms Peggy Serame said tourism remained an integral part of Botswana\u2019s economic growth and development.<\/p>\n

She said the proposed developments to the sector would be driven by the implementation of the national tourism strategy and master plan which spanned the decade 2023-2033.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo facilitate the implementation, budgetary provisions have been made to continue upgrading infrastructure in the Kasane-Kazungula Tourism Areas,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, she said government would construct entrance gates at Khawa and Tsetseng as a way of improving infrastructure in protected areas for tourist attraction purposes.<\/p>\n

Additionally, she said new tourism sites would be made available to support land ownership by citizens in the Kasane-Kazungula tourism area.<\/p>\n
