Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>With reports of scorching heat prevailing across the country recently, the Department of Meteorological Services (DMS) has disclosed a temperature surge leading to a heat wave and urged the public to take the necessary precautions.<\/b><\/p>\n

In a statement released today, the DMS indicated that the excessive heat is anticipated to persist for three days. DMS advises members of the public that there is a significant increase in temperatures across the country. The heat wave is expected over most parts of the country from February 7 to 9.<\/p>\n

During the heat wave, the DMS highlighted that temperatures will range from 36\u00b0C to 40\u00b0C. Despite the country experiencing excessive temperatures, the DMS noted that some regions may still encounter thundershowers. Meanwhile, Batswana are advised to stay hydrated by consuming more water, avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun, and wearing wide hats or using umbrellas. The meteorological body further stated it will continue to monitor the heat wave and provide guidance to Batswana accordingly.<\/p>\n
