Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The Vice President, Mr Slumber Tsogwane will, on behalf of President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi, attend the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU), from February 17 to 18, 2024, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.<\/b><\/p>\n

A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the summit, themed: Educate an African Fit for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Education Systems for Increased Access to Inclusive, Lifelong, Quality, and Relevant Learning in Africa will bring together heads of state and government, as well as leaders of international institutions, to discuss various issues including climate change, continental peace and security, trade, education, gender and youth empowerment.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the release says the summit will also consider a number of strategic reports such as those pertaining to the institutional reform of the African Union, and the report on the Comprehensive African Agriculture Development Programme.<\/p>\n

The summit was preceded by the 44th Session of the Executive Council (Ministers of Foreign Affairs), which was held on Wednesday and Thursday.<\/p>\n

Mr Tsogwane will be accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Education and Skills Development and Trade and Industry, Dr Lemogang Kwape, Dr Douglas Letsholathebe and Mr Mmusi Kgafela, respectively.<\/p>\n
