Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Ministry of Transport and Public Works saw it convenient and economical to propose the construction of the road from Ghanzi Junction 44 to New Xade to benefit both East Hanahai and West Hanahai through the road access policy.<\/b><\/p>\n

Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mr Eric Molale said the budget for the design of the proposed new alignment had been approved for implementation during the 2024\/2025 financial year, and that construction was scheduled to commence during National Development Programme 12.<\/p>\n

Mr Molale also said his ministry had on September 27-28, 2023, consulted with the district leadership of the respective villages being East Hanahai, West Hanahai and New Xade on the proposed route to identify and agree on the suitable road alignment starting from Ghanzi Junction 44.<\/p>\n

Member of Parliament of Ghanzi North, Mr John Thiite had asked the minister if any budgetary allocations or design plans had been in place for the upgrading of the Ghanzi-New Xade-East Hanahai-West Hanahai road to bitumen standard.<\/p>\n
