Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Lemogang Kwape, is in Luanda, Angola attending the SADC Council of Ministers meeting from March 10-11.<\/b><\/p>\n

A press release from the foreign affairs ministry states that the meeting is hosted by Ambassador Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, Minister of External Relations of Angola, in his capacity as the current Council of Ministers chairperson.<\/p>\n

The release says the council, which comprises ministers from SADC member states, is tasked to ensure that regional policies and decisions are implemented accordingly.<\/p>\n

It says during the meeting, ministers will consider progress made on the implementation of the 43rd SADC Summit theme, Human and Financial Capital: The Key Drivers for Sustainable Industrialisation in the SADC Region, which addresses enablers that support regional industrialisation.<\/p>\n

The release further says the Council of Ministers will also receive progress updates on the implementation of various programmes on regional integration as one of the main pillars of Botswana\u2019s foreign policy.<\/p>\n

Therefore, it says the country\u2019s participation at the Council of Ministers meeting, enables it to continue to support efforts aimed at strengthening and advancing the regional integration agenda.<\/p>\n

Minister Kwape and his delegation, comprising senior officials, returns to Gaborone on March 12.<\/p>\n
