Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Employees urged to uphold professionalism<\/b><\/p>\n

Employees of department of Land Tribunal in Maun have been urged to uphold values and principles of the public service in order to ensure productivity.<\/p>\n

The call was made by a member of the Maun Land Tribunal, Ms Dithuto Nkwe during a team building exercise that was aimed at motivating employees to be more productive in the workplace.<\/p>\n

The exercise, held under the theme; Mindset Change, a Drive Towards Performance Excellence, included activities such as choir, poetry, contemporary dance, as well as visiting some historical sites to appreciate the beauty of the sites.<\/p>\n

However, Ms Nkwe also urged them to uphold professionalism and ethical standards in order to meet expectations of the public as they kick start the 2024\/25 financial year, adding that they should adhere to the highest standards of service delivery and to aim for higher levels of productivity.<\/p>\n

She commended employees for cooperation and unity and encouraged them to keep up the morale going forward noting that a vibrant and positive workplace culture was essential to a successful work environment.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the most effective ways to cultivate this culture is through a building exercise as it fosters team work and boosts employee satisfaction,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Land Tribunal President, Mr Tebogo Masala said the team building exercise was important as it improved employees\u2019 relations and enhanced their performance as a team.<\/p>\n

He said the exercise created a strong team through forming connections adding that creating such bonds were beneficial to the organisation as it enhanced the work place culture. He added that the benefits of team building included improved communication, motivation, planning skills and employee collaboration. \u201cChoosing a different setting apart from work and having fun activities that help people see each other in a different light allows us to connect differently,\u201d he added. Employees were also awarded for their performance in teams and tasked to compose a song in relation to the theme of the day and the teams presented a high level of creativity unearthing hidden talents in all respective activities.<\/p>\n
