Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Police shot and killed a suspected armed robber, following an encounter with the Botswana Police Service (BPS) at Trans Cash and Carry in Tlokweng last night.<\/p>\n

It is reported that at around 7pm when Trans Cash and Carry in Tlokweng was about to close, four armed robbers entered the shop and started demanding money.<\/p>\n

Officer Commanding, senior superintendent Theriso Thatayotlhe confirmed the incident to MmegiOnline.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe police interrupted the quartet whilst committing the robbery. They exchanged fire with the police and one ended up being killed, while the other three suspects fled the crime scene. We believe that one of the three that fled the crime scene got injured in the shootout because we noticed that there were bloodstains leading to where they had parked their getaway car,\u201d Thatayotlhe said.<\/p>\n

Thatayotlhe stated that investigations are ongoing to locate and arrest the suspects who are still at large.<\/p>\n
