Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The Special Education Block donated to Marulamantsi Junior Secondary School by the Embassy of Japan signifies hope, opportunity, and a renewed commitment to overcoming barriers in learning.<\/b><\/p>\n

With a value of P1 000 300, the development served as evidence of what could be achieved when communities unite with a common purpose and determination to effect positive change, said Mr Ohmori Setsuo, the Ambassador of Japan to Botswana, during a recent handover event.<\/p>\n

Mr Setsuo mentioned that Japan provided the school with a grant of P1.1 million (US$80 349) under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Project scheme, reflecting a spirit of collaboration and a collective goal to offer quality education to all children, irrespective of their challenges.<\/p>\n

Commending Marulamantsi JSS for embracing a diverse student body, including those with hearing impairments and various physical and learning difficulties, Mr Setsuo acknowledged that the students often face challenges in keeping pace with mainstream education, requiring additional time and support.<\/p>\n

He expressed confidence that through this initiative, their specific needs would be addressed, thereby enriching their educational journeys.<\/p>\n

He encouraged learners to remember that education was the key to unlocking one\u2019s full potential and reshaping the world around them and therefore, urged them to embrace learning with enthusiasm, curiosity and determination.<\/p>\n

Mr Setsuo said Japan believed in the power of education to transform lives and build brighter futures. He further said Japan continued to reaffirm commitment to supporting inclusive education initiatives worldwide, adding that every child had the right to learn, grow and thrive in a supportive environment that natured their unique talents and abilities.<\/p>\n

Marulamantsi JSS school head, Mr Amos Muzila, appreciated Japan for the generous gift that aimed at achieving excellence in education, advocate for inclusivity and accessibility to empower every child to reach their full potential.<\/p>\n

Mr Muzila said the project began in 2023, and was completed within time and budget with no cost overruns and would alleviate shortage of space.<\/p>\n
