Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Molepolole South MP, Mr Kabo Morwaeng has pledged continued support to churches through his partnership with the village\u2019s ministers\u2019 fraternal.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at the induction of Reverend Bonolo Mmereki-Burns of UCCSA in Molepolole onMay 12, Mr Morwaeng, who is also the Minister for State President said through his collaboration with the ministers\u2019 fraternal, he had made several donations geared towards assisting churches in their pursuit to save souls.<\/p>\n

He said he had worked with Reverend Mmereki-Burns on numerous occasions, who since her arrival in January had participated in various community activities, including the funeral service of the 45 bus accident victims.<\/p>\n

Talking about the reverend, Ms Magdeline Molaole from Ramotswa, said she spent five years with Reverend Mmereki-Burns, during which time she had showed her dedication to the church and the local community through various activities she initiated.<\/p>\n

Reverend Mmereki-Burns was the first woman to lead the church and she became a good shepherd as she engaged the community to win lost sheep, she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe walked around the village and encouraged people to return to church,\u201d said Ms Molaole.<\/p>\n

Another initiative she introduced is the workshops to empower the youths so they could have a bright future.<\/p>\n

Reverend Mmereki-Burns introduced a Pastoral Team that visited senior citizens who could no longer go to church, prayed for them and provided them with the Holy Communion, she said.<\/p>\n

She also started a vegetable garden, which Ms Molaole said they converted to an orchard.<\/p>\n

Ms Molaole said the reverend also started the Preachers Team, teaching a group of seven people about the Bible who today, played a meaningful role in the church.<\/p>\n

She also said the reverend had been a champion, speaking vehemently against gender-based violence (GBV) and worked with women from different denominations.<\/p>\n

For her part, Ms Kgalaletso Thobega from Molepolole Local Church said they were impressed by Reverend Mmereki-Burns\u2019 first time on the pulpit in January, adding they were moved by her preaching.<\/p>\n

She described her as a highly consultative person who would not do anything without consulting the church.<\/p>\n

Ms Thobega said they introduced her to Kgosi Kgari III of Bakwena where she was welcomed by the village\u2019s traditional leadership, and had been a high standing member of the minister\u2019s fraternal.<\/p>\n

For her part, Reverend Mmereki-Burns said she was welcomed by the village\u2019s traditional leaders who had a good relationship with the Minister\u2019s Fraternal, hence her settlement in Molepolole had been easy.<\/p>\n

She said her quest was to free the souls in bondage and also address GBV challenges, adding God would answer their prayers as they continued to serve the village.<\/p>\n

Also in attendance was Kgosi Kgari III and the Assistant Minister for State President, Ms Boitumelo Gofhamodimo.<\/p>\n
