Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The partnership between Naledi Mining Services Company and DRA Global is expected to drive innovation in the mining industry and propel growth through enhanced safety and sustainability standards.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking during the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two companies in Jwaneng on May 15, Naledi Mining Services Chief Executive Officer, Mr Bokang Thitoyamore, said owing to their shared visions, the collaboration would empower them to bridge gaps and explore emerging opportunities in the industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe share a common vision of driving innovation, enhancing safety and advancing sustainability in the mining industry,\u201d he said. \u201cThis partnership will empower us to explore new frontiers and seize emerging opportunities as they come.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Thitoyamore said networking opportunities created by the partnership would not only promote the company\u2019s growth but would also benefit employees through skills development to position themselves for the vibrant mining sector.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cFor Naledi, this relationship provides unprecedented access to DRA\u2019s extensive global network and skills, opening new opportunities for growth. Our employees stand to benefit from the invaluable training, upskilling and retooling opportunities, more especially with the changing landscape of skills.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Thitoyamore said partnering with DRA Global resonated with their aspirations of becoming an industry leader even on the international stage, leveraging on their reputation for excellence in mining services.<\/p>\n

He appreciated the impact of such partnerships in driving mining solutions through collaborating the partners\u2019 resources.<\/p>\n

Beyond the company operations and employment creation, he noted that the collaboration would go a long way in showcasing Botswana as a hub for sustainable mining practices, thereby reaffirming the country as the best mining investment destination.<\/p>\n

Mr Thitoyamore said: \u201cThe partnership also strengthens Botswana\u2019s standing in the global mining community by showcasing the country\u2019s commitment to good governance and sustainable mining practices.<\/p>\n

Our collaboration further cements Botswana\u2019s reputation as a preferred destination for mining investment, it paves the way for future partnerships and opportunities that will continue to support the steady growth of the country\u2019s mining industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

For his part, DRA Global Chief Executive Officer, Mr James Smith, said the partnership came at an opportune time when Botswana\u2019s mining industry was on a transformation journey, particularly the underground diamond mining.<\/p>\n

He noted that their vast experience and track record, which spans over 40 years, would contribute towards diversifying the country\u2019s mining sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year holds particular significance for DRA as we celebrate our 40th anniversary and embark on this pivotal partnership during a transformative period for Botswana\u2019s mining sector, which is transitioning to predominantly underground diamond mining operations.<\/p>\n

With DRA\u2019s established reputation as a key partner in designing and developing specialised underground mining infrastructure, our involvement underscores our commitment to supporting this crucial shift,\u201d Mr Smith said.<\/p>\n

He appreciated Botswana\u2019s commitment towards sustainable mining practices, which he said was conducive for investment and growth.<\/p>\n

Mr Smith said through the partnership, DRA did not only intend to invest in the country, but also empower citizens through skills development and sustainable practices.<\/p>\n

He was optimistic that the collaboration and support from other stakeholders would contribute towards improving Botswana\u2019s mining industry.<\/p>\n
