Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>With one round of play remaining, the league championship is headed for a photo finish as three teams remain in contention following the midweek results.<\/b><\/p>\n

Defending champions, Jwaneng Galaxy are locked in a heated battle with Gaborone giants, Township Rollers and Gaborone United (GU). Galaxy and GU played to a 0-0 draw in the Botswana Premier League (BPL) game played in the Lobatse Sports Complex. Galaxy now sit on 62 points with GU dropping to the third spot with 60 points. Rollers on the other hand kept their championship ambitions alive with a resounding 4-1 win over BDF XI at the Royal Aria Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Blues moved to just within a point off Galaxy as they now sit on 61 points ahead of this weekend\u2019s season finale. It was entertaining encounter at the Lobatse Sports Complex despite minimal chances at goal. Daniel Msendami had two glorious chances in the first 15minutes but both were saved by Thabo Motswagole. Thabo Leinanyane could have put Galaxy ahead on the brink of half time but his headed effort went off the post. The Reds had the better of the second half but were lucky to escape a Msendami threat as the Zimbabwean skied his attempt over the bar in the 57th minute. Alford Velaphi made a solo run but shot over the bar on the hour mark.<\/p>\n

Thabang Sesinyi had a go with an acrobatic effort to meet Msendami cross but Motswagole calmly collected. Thatayaone Kgamanyane was at the end of a good GU move but his weak effort was saved by Goitseone Phoko very late in the tie. The two benches were content with the results with all to play for this Saturday.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Holy Ghost have dropped to the second tier after 2-2 draw with Matebele FC at the VTM Arena. Morupule Wanderers increased their chances of survival with a 3-3 draw with Security Systems.<\/p>\n
