Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Rosa Associati CEO, Federico Rosa has advised Botswana athletics governing body to put more emphasis on athletes and coaches\u2019 development for them to reap the desired results.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Italian-based athlete representative, who was in Botswana to attend Letsile Tebogo\u2019s mother\u2019s funeral on Saturday, said having worked with some Botswana athletes for over 16 years, he had realised that the country had potential to produce more world beaters.<\/p>\n

He has worked with the likes of Amantle Montsho, Nijel Amos, Baboloki Thebe, Karabo Sibanda, and he is currently representing Letsile Tebogo, Bayapo Ndori and Leungo Scotch.<\/p>\n

Rosa acknowledged that it was not easy to produce world class athletes, but advised Botswana to put more emphasis on scouting athletes in the rural area, where he suspected an abundance of talent.<\/p>\n

He said the federation should do its part in producing competitive athletes to enable Rosa Associati to also do its part of introducing them to the international stage.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, he said previously he was only conducting training camps in Kenya, but since Kebonyemodisa \u2018Dose\u2019 Mosimanyane had introduced an off season training camp in Maun, the association had joined hands with him in his quest to unearth talent.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is a great coach with a good personality.<\/p>\n

He is always hungry for success, and we hope the Maun training camp will make a difference in Botswana,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Talking about Tebogo, who is also under Rosa Associati stable, he said the athlete was an epitome of hard work and resilience, who talked less, but produced results on track.<\/p>\n

He said his stable was also happy about how he handled the media interviews.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time he talks to the media I get emotional, as he would be talking from the heart, and his ability to listen to the questions and answer them with humility is outside this world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Rosa Associati, he said emphasised discipline and good relations with different stakeholders, adding that Tebogo had over time demonstrated such, proving that he was a true champion.<\/p>\n

Tebogo, he said, was focused and had a big heart, expressing concern that while many a athletes were currently focused on the Olympics, the passing of the sprinter\u2019s mother might weigh him down, given that the two were close.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut with strong support from the nation, coach and family, I know he would like to do what her mother had wanted him to do, to be a champion and I am confident he will fulfil his mother\u2019s wish,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
