Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>As the clock ticks even closer to the much-awaited Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) primary elections also known as Bulela Ditswe, President Mokgweetsi Masisi has announced that more aspiring candidates have been \u2018axed out.\u2019<\/b><\/p>\n

Masisi made the announcement during a press briefing hosted at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (SSKIA) this afternoon ahead of his Las Vegas trip. He also said he was late for the press briefing because he attended a BDP Central Committee where the fate of the aspirating candidates was determined. \u201cLists of persons participating will be reduced. We just reduced it a little more today because some people breached our code and we removed them from the right to participate. But they remain members of the party because when you pledged to enter the race you subscribed to abide by the rules and we you don\u2019t you are disqualified,\u201d Masisi shared. Masisi also took the chance to announce that Bulela Ditswe will be held at the end of June or first week of July.<\/p>\n
