Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Institute of Internal Auditors Botswana (IIAB) has donated goods valued at about P100 000 to the Cheshire Foundation of Botswana.<\/b><\/p>\n

The gifts included blankets, toiletries, diapers and foodstuffs aimed at improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities supported by the foundation.<\/p>\n

The handover ceremony, which was held in Mogoditshane on Saturday, was in commemoration of the Internal Audit awareness month.<\/p>\n

Presenting the donation, IIAB president, Mr Lovemore Katukula said the organisation felt it was important to give back to the community.<\/p>\n

Mr Katukula said IIAB, a professional association dedicated to the advancement of the internal audit profession, had long been committed to giving back to the communities in which it operated and the latest donation underscored the institute\u2019s dedication to social causes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year, as part of internal audit awareness month, we made a deliberate decision to demonstrate our commitment to goodwill. This motivation has led us to select the Cheshire Foundation of Botswana as a beneficiary,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Mr Katukula thanked the Cheshire Foundation of Botswana management for their tireless hard work and commitment in supporting those living with disabilities, especially children.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud to support their noble work and hope these goods will bring substantial benefits to the individuals they serve,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

For his part, Cheshire Foundation Botswana executive director, Mr Billy Masebola thanked IIAB for their support.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis generous donation will go a long way in helping us meet the needs of our clients and the items we received today will directly impact the lives of many people, making their day-to-day activities easier and more manageable,\u201d Mr Masebola said.<\/p>\n

He said the Cheshire Foundation of Botswana was a non-profit making organisation providing free rehabilitation services to disabled and non-disabled persons with services ranging from different kinds of therapies to running a day care centre for severely disabled children.<\/p>\n

He said the foundation\u2019s mission was to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their full potential and to participate fully in society.<\/p>\n

As such, he encouraged various organisations to contribute to societal well-being.<\/p>\n
