Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>His Excellency President Dr Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi is mourning the loss of his cousin, Ms Georginah Modimakwane, who passed away on August 27 at the age of 66.<\/b><\/p>\n

The deceased was the daughter of Mr Tebatso Therego and Ms Dikeledi Therego, who was a sister to the President\u2019s late father, Mr Edison Masisi.<\/p>\n

Visiting the Therego family at Kgosing ward in Thamaga on Sunday, President Masisi expressed deep sorrow over the sudden demise of his cousin.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are mourning the loss of Ms Modimakwane with you,\u201d the President said, wishing the family strength to cope with the loss.<\/p>\n

He said the Botswana Democratic Party had asked him to convey a message of condolences to the family and that they wished them to stay strong during the heartbreaking moment.<\/p>\n

Dr Masisi, who was accompanied by First Lady Neo, called for unity within the family and pledged his family\u2019s support.<\/p>\n

President Masisi said it was befitting to pay tribute to his cousin, whom he described as a respectful, kind and a compassionate person.<\/p>\n

The deceased\u2019s brothers, Mr Thebeyame Therego and Colonel (retired) Bruce Therego, expressed gratitude to Dr Masisi for having found a time in his busy schedule to pay homage to their sister.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Ms Kgomotso Bareki, had stated that her younger sister died after a short illness.<\/p>\n

Ms Modimakwane is survived by a daughter, son and four grandchildren.<\/p>\n

She will be laid to rest on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
