Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Debswana\u2019s Orapa Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines (OLDM) Livingstone House Private School continues to strengthen its reputation as a leading centre for youth sport development in Botswana. The school has once again captured attention after delivering strong performances in swimming and other sporting codes during a highly competitive season. Despite challenges caused by a delayed start to training due to unfavourable weather conditions, the learners showed resilience and focus throughout their preparation period. Their achievements reflect a culture of discipline and commitment that continues to define the institution. The results have also generated pride among staff, parents, and the wider OLDM community. The school\u2019s sporting programme remains a key platform for nurturing young talent and building confidence. It also supports holistic development through structured competition and teamwork.<\/b><\/p>\n

A major highlight of the season was the qualification of 15 learners for the prestigious North vs South selection events. This achievement demonstrated the depth of talent within Livingstone House and the effectiveness of its training structure. Out of the 15 selected learners, eight advanced to represent the North team at the competition held in Gaborone. The competition brought together some of the strongest young athletes in the country, creating a highly competitive environment. Although the North team narrowly lost to the South, the Livingstone House athletes delivered strong individual performances that stood out throughout the event. One of the most notable individual achievements came from Daniel Oageng, who was crowned Under 13 Victor after an exceptional series of performances. His victory also serves as motivation for younger learners who aspire to reach similar levels of success.
