Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Coach Oupa Kowa has pledged his future to Holy Ghost after leading the team to their maiden Premier League promotion. Kowa joined Holy Ghost halfway through the league campaign after he was released by Notwane. He led the team to elite league promotion in a nervy title race against Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Black Forest.
\n<\/b>
\nKowa\u2019s side entered the final day of the season games tied on 42 points with Chiefs but the Holy Boys sealed the championship with a 3-1 win over Taung Young Strikers. It is the team\u2019s first ever elite league promotion and the coach\u2019s initial agreement with the club has come to an end.<\/p>\n

Kowa said he is keen to stay on and elevate the Holy Ghost project to the highest level of league football in the country. \u201cLook for me, it\u2019s a project that has to go on but for me, I am a coach. I think you understand what I mean when I say I am a coach. It simply means that I want to stay; this is a project that can be carried forward and of course with certain changes. You know club licensing compliance has to come into play now and a lot of things have to change,\u201d he said. Kowa has seemingly enjoyed his time at the foot of the Mmopane hill as he credited the club\u2019s management for the recent piece of history.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere has been a lot of support I got from the management. Of course, we have had our fights. But you fight in order to achieve because at the end of the day, it is not the fights but the efficiency of the fights. In other words, you fight, agree, and disagree on certain things to be done but here we are. The supporters, these guys have been great!<\/p>\n

\u201cI thank the boys. It is them who did the job the way I asked them to do it. If it were not for them my job would have been difficult. I believe in the group of boys I have here. I have a group of boys who were willing to work hard. I have been very, very hard on them. They can tell you that but at end of the day when you are hard and you have an objective you want to achieve, then it is justifiable for me to be hard,\u201d Kowa said.<\/p>\n

Holy Ghost became one of the youngest clubs to attain Premier League status as they did so in just 13 years since its establishment in 2009. The team has in its books several former Premier League stars including ex-Notwane and Township Rollers goalkeeper, Botlhe Moralo and striker Ishmael Amponsah.<\/p>\n
