Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Local football has been plunged into mourning following the passing of Mochudi Centre Chiefs defender, Donald Rapulane.<\/b>
\nA player who was instrumental in Chiefs’ run last season, Rapulane was reportedly stabbed to death in the early hours of today.<\/p>\n

Chiefs released a statement in the wake of the sad news.<\/p>\n

“Mochudi Centre Chiefs SC is saddened to announce the untimely passing of our beloved player Donald Rapulane,” the club said.<\/p>\n

“The no nonsense defender was instrumental in Magosi\u2019s impressive clean sheet record for 2021\/22 FDSL season.”<\/p>\n

The club said funeral arrangements, including a memorial service, will be communicated in due course.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Botswana Football Association (BFA) has ordered that a moment of silence be observed in honour of the departed player.<\/p>\n

“Having received the sad news of the unfortunate and ultimately passing away of the talented Donald Rapulane of Mochudi Centre Chiefs, I hereby do instruct and direct that forthwith, all official matches across the country must observe a Moment of Silence in respect and honor of our departed son, Rapulane,” BFA president , Maclean Letshwiti said in a media statement.<\/p>\n
