Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The International Union of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) on Tuesday advised members against signing contracts with Greek, Turkish, Romanian, Algerian, Libyan, Saudi or Chinese clubs due to constant and widespread violations of these agreements signed in those countries.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to that professional association, arrears are a recurring and long-lasting problem in Romania and Turkey, with several Romanian emblems in the process of filing for bankruptcy, with serious consequences for athletes, who are unable to see themselves rewarded.<\/p>\n

FIFPro also warned of the frequency with which clubs in the Greek II League ‘close their doors’ without paying off their debts, with the majority of footballers who resorted to the FIFA Player Protection Fund, due to late salaries in the last two years, was precisely in Hellenic teams.<\/p>\n

Wage non-compliance is also a common and growing practice highlighted by FIFPro in China, Saudi Arabia and Algeria, as well as in Libya, in the latter country with the aggravating factor that foreign players are prevented from leaving that territory because clubs refuse to give them the necessary documents.<\/p>\n
